The Corpus Christi RSVP is federally funded by AmeriCorps Seniors. Since 1977, the City of Corpus Christi has been the local sponsor. The RSVP program serves all of Nueces County and currently has over 385 active volunteers. RSVP staff match volunteers’ interests and schedules with several opportunities through non-profit agencies called Volunteer Stations that are registered with the RSVP program, with services including clerical and administrative duties, fundraising assistants, special project coordinators, receptionists, thrift and gift shop clerks, computer assistants, as well as numerous long-term, ad-hoc or short-term assignments.
Senior Companion Program
Senior Companion volunteers provide assistance with daily living tasks and companionship to home-bound and disabled seniors. Senior Companions must be age 55+ and meet established income eligibility guidelines to serve 15 to 40 hours per week and receive hourly stipends.
